Perfect your holiday packing this summer -#Article

Perfect your holiday packing this summer
City breaks and short holidays offer the perfect antidote to today's busy lifestyle.  With the Queens Jubilee coming up, why not take full advantage of the extra long weekend and escape the rat race with a loved one or friends?

Whether you’re planning for a city break in Europe or a country getaway in the UK, choosing the right items is essential. Packing shouldn’t be stressful though – follow these tips to be ready to leave in moments.

Travel light

Unless you’ve got a celebrity-style entourage to carry your luggage, you’re going to want to travel light. Plan ahead and consider what you’ll wear each day and night – this will stop you taking too many clothes that you won’t end up wearing. Mix and match items are ideal for this. Pack outfits that can be easily transformed from casual to dressy with just a few accessories.

The contents of your wash bag are just as important as your suitcase. Your hotel may provide basic complimentary cosmetics, but it’s always best to bring your own. It may seem obvious, but don’t forget your toothbrush. Electric toothbrushes like the Philips Sonicare clean your teeth thoroughly and have a long battery life, so you don’t need to worry about running out of juice while you’re away. Toiletries such as toothpaste, shampoo and soap should be packed in a large, plastic food storage bag to guard against leakage, and placed in your suitcase.

Be careful with footwear. Although shoes are essential for finishing off an outfit, they can be bulky and take up lots of room in a suitcase. And the fact of the matter is, you just don’t need more than two or three pairs of shoes. Bring one pair for formal occasions and another for casual – and pop in a pair of trainers if you plan to exercise whilst you’re away.
 Books and music

To help you relax and unwind during your holiday, bring a selection of books and some music. There’s nothing like escaping with a good novel and a glass of wine, and most long car journeys can fly by with the right choice of music. Make sure you put a holiday playlist together that will suit your mood, always reminding you of that special Jubilee weekend away.
