I have a love/hate relationship with cold weather. While I can't stand the heat and humidity of the summers here in Florida, it's just as humid during the winter! 40 degrees up north in Wisconsin felt like a heat wave to me when I was growing up but down here 40 degrees chills you to the bone!
One thing I haven't had to worry about as much is dry, chapped skin. With moisture in the air, I have dry skin a lot less frequently than when I was younger but that doesn't mean it stopped all together. My feet, especially the heels and Josh's hands have taken a beating already and it's only early/mid November! Thankfully I am a part of the Carmex Blog Squad so they set us up and prepared us for dry skin all winter long.
More information on Carmex
According to their website, "Carmex was invented in 1937 by Alfred Woelburg, literally on the family stovetop. For over 70 years people have come to love the healing power of Carmex lip balms. Finally Carmex skincare is here with a new solution to heal, soothe and moisturize your dry skin."
"Carmex Healing Lotion is made using a patent pending process that delivers healing and moisturization without a greasy feel." You can use it anywhere skin feels dry and daily use will help protect skin and keep dryness away. It includes rich, healing ingredients including Aloe and Vitamin E to nourish and moisturize your skin. It also absorbs fast for a non-greasy feel and has a pleasent scent that is light enough to wear everyday.
"Carmex Healing Cream is made using a patent pending process that delivers concentrated healing and moisturization of your driest, roughest skin." For use on your driest, roughest skin - especially your hands, elbows, feet and knees. It has nine healing ingredients to help you repair your very dry, rough or cracked skin. Carmex Healing Cream is concentrated so a little bit goes a long way and it absorbs fast for a non-greasy feel.
Our family has been using Carmex lip balm for years to help protect our lips from the cold or to help heal cracked, dry lips after a cold. We absolutely love Carmex and wouldn't dream of using another lip balm! So it's only natural that I join the Carmex Blog Squad! I have been with them for a little while now and it's always so exciting to receive a new product to test and review. This time around we received Carmex Healing Lotion and Cream to try! As I've mentioned before, I'm very picky when it comes to my lotions so I'm always a little skeptical in trying out new ones.
Josh has used the Carmex Healing Cream on his rough, cracked feet and hands for about a week now and I have noticed that his hands are getting a little softer each time he uses it. Since it's a cream it's a bit thicker than the Carmex Healing Lotion but not too thick.
I have used the Carmex Healing Lotion for the same amount of time and haven't really noticed much of a difference except maybe I don't use lotion as often during the day when I use the Carmex. While it doesn't have an oily or greasy feel to it, it does leave a silky feeling residue on your hands which makes your hands look greasy. Overall I like both products but it's not the best lotion I've ever used. Again, I'm very picky with my lotions. I recommend this product to anyone living in a state that gets really cold and dry in the winter or anyone looking for silky smooth skin.
