Chicken Soup for the Soul: Inspiration for the Young at Heart Review and Giveaway

Everyone has an interesting story to tell and the older you get the more intriguing the stories become.  They say 60 is the new 40 and I've met quite a few older friends of my parents or neighbors that have one heck of a story to tell.  Whether it was something that happened while they were off fighting a war or a funny story about how they met their significant other, it's always fun to listen to what life was like before I was born.

Being a part of the Chicken Soup for the Soul Blogger Network is a great chance to read all of their books and share some of the interesting stories with my friends and loved ones.  The next book I was sent for review is the Chicken Soup for the Soul: Inspiration for the Young at Heart.  I read through the book and found a lot of great stories so I decided to share this book with my parents since that is aimed at older readers.

My Review
Though I am not 60 years old, I still enjoyed this book because it opened my eyes to what my parents and grandparents deal with everyday.  It also helps paint a picture of what I can expect when I'm that age.  It's very inspiring to read what some of these people have overcome!  I've always loved Chicken Soup for the Soul books ever since I was a little girl and this one was no different.  I gave it to my mom after I finished reading it, since it's more for people her age and so far she loves it too.  With Christmas coming up, this would make a great gift for Mom, Dad, Grandma or Grandpa!  I highly recommend this book for anyone with older people in their lives or anyone just looking for another great Chicken Soup for the Soul book to read.
Shopaholic Rating: 5 out of 5 Shopping Bags - wonderfully written stories keep you turning the pages 'til the very end.

  1. I am the youngest one in my family. I am 43 and the next closest in age (a brother)is 8 years older than I am. My sister is 10 years older than I am and I have twin brothers 14 years older than I am. Lastly my oldest brother is 18 years older than I am. I've watched as all of them have overcome life struggles and learned from their issues and mistakes as well as what they have done right. I think all of them would qualify in answer to your question.

  14. The one person I look up to that is older than me is my dear friend Sally, she is in her 60's and I am 48. She has went through so many trials in the past with breast cancer and just recently lost her brother to a battle with cancer. Yet, she still finds time to help others.
