Summer Nights and Flip Flop Wines - A Review

Summer nights in Florida are the only time out of the day that you can actually go outside and enjoy the weather.  The humidity and temperature die down just enough for you to be able to sit out side and let your children run off that last bit of energy they have in them before bed.  One thing I've found, to be a great way to help me relax and enjoy the warm dusk air is a nice glass of Flip Flop Wines.  If you are a Shopaholic that has been around for a little while, than you'll remember my last review on Flip Flop Wines.  If you're new, than you're in for a treat, because Flip Flop Wines are perfect for summer time!

A little bit about Flip Flop Wines
According to their website, "With Flip Flop Wines, we have embraced the movement toward individualistic expression instead of manufacturing wines into some cookie cutter style that's all the rage.  Our goal is to craft expressive, well-balanced wines that evoke just what the grape intended, without being over-wrought or over-explained, and that can be enjoyed at any occasion."
Flip Flop Wines is more than just a wine, they contribute in the Soles4Souls program which will provide a pair of shoes to someone in need up to 100,000 pairs a year.  Their kindness shows through in their customer service as well!
Flip Flop Wines are delicious and affordable!  They've won numerous awards including a Gold Medal for their Cabernet Sauvignon at the Florida State Fair International Wine Competition, a Platinum medal-Best of Varietal, Best of class for their Moscato at the 2011 New World International Wine Competition, and many others.  And at only $7 a bottle (SRP) you just can't beat Flip Flop Wines for their affordability, quality and taste.

My Review
Now that we're half way through summer and Ashton has been jumping off the walls for about a month, I found a nice glass of red wine at the end of a long, stressful, tiring day to be just the thing I need to relax.  Luckily, my wonderful friends at Flip Flop Wines sent us over 2 bottles of wine for review.

Chardonnay
Appellation: California
Tastes Like: Medium bodied, Chardonnay with pineapple, soft vanilla & a long lingering finish.
It is full of: Creamy, toasted oak notes
Eat with: Wood-fired Neapolitan Pizza, Mac & Cheese, or Chicken Caesar Salad
Serve: Chilled
Store: Away from direct sunlight

Cabernet Sauvignon
Appellation: California
Tastes Like: Full bodied, Cabernet Sauvignon with blackberry fruit, dark cherries and a lingering finish.
It is full of:  Black pepper notes and berry aromas
Eat with:  New York strip steak, spinach ravioli or Portabello Mushrooms
Serve: Room temperature
Store: Away from direct sunlight

Both bottles were absolutely delicious, as I expected they would be.  I especially loved the Cabernet because it had a nice berry taste to it.  Both of them went wonderful with the dinners we prepared that night.  With the white wine, we prepared some Mac & Cheese a long with a few other things and the wine really blended well with everything!  A couple nights later we made a trip to my parents for some New York strip steak smothered in Portabello Mushrooms and Onions and the Cabernet really made the dinner fit together.  I will always recommend Flip Flop Wines, not just because they are affordable for someone like me, who is struggling right now and could use something nice to relax every once in a while, but the quality of their wines is mind blowing!  In my last review, I mentioned I gave a bottle to my Mother for Mother's Day.  My parents drink a little more wine than I do, not a lot, maybe a glass a night or every other night but they have tried the more expensive wines and they even told me they were very surprised at how great this wine is!  So the next time you're at the store, pick up a bottle of Flip Flop wines. Discover the first affordable wine that actually tastes good!
Shopaholic Rating: 5 out of 5 Shopping Bags!  This wine is fabulous! You've gotta try it!
