Learning Resources Review and Pizza Mania Game Giveaway!!

Growing up, my mom was very involved in my school from the time I was in elementary school all the way until she became a teacher herself when I was going into high school.  Education has been instilled in me since I was very young and the importance of a good education as well.  Luckily for me, last year while Ashton was in Kindergarten, my mom also happened to teach Kindergarten so she was able to help him throughout the year with worksheets, fun games and activities and all kinds of neat things she came up with to keep her students interested in learning.  And she's doing something right because those kids adore her and learn so much with her that she has students coming back years later thanking her!  So, I was thrilled to learn I would be reviewing for Learning Resources, which is a favorite of  my moms!

What is Learning Resources?
According to their website, "Learning Resources is a leading manufacturer of innovative, hands-on educational materials for classrooms and learning toys for the home.  For more than 25 years, the company has been a trusted source for educators and parents for quality, award-winning educational products.  Headquartered in Vernon Hills, IL, with a European office in Kings Lynn, Norfolk, England, Learning Resources markets and distributes its products in more than 80 countries around the globe."
"The company's diverse product line of over 1,300 proprietary products serves children and their families, kindergarten, primary, and middle school markets focused in the areas of mathematics, science, early childhood, reading, Spanish Language, English Language learning and teacher resources.  Since it's founding in 1984, Learning Resources' continues to be guided by it's mission to develop quality educational products that make learning exciting for children of all ages and abilities."

Learning Resources has a wide variety of educational hands on products for children of all ages and abilities.  Here are just a few that caught my eye while I was exploring their website.
Light 'N' Strike Math® Game- $44.99
The Light 'N' Strike Math® Game is a unique arcade style math game that will teach your children math skills while they have fun! "The Large LCD screen displays an equation as the numbers flash and beep.  Using the soft mallet or their hands, kids strike the correct number when it lights up.  Reinforces addition, subtraction, multiplication skills and division skills.  Choose from 3 levels of difficulty.  For ages 6-11."

Quizzillion® Build Your Own Quiz Show makes it possible for you to hold a game show for any subject in the comforts of your own home or classroom. Action packed play helps get students ready for tests.  On screen prompts make it easy to record your own multiple choice quizzes that get students ready for tests on any subject.  It even keeps score automatically which is a big help in classroom management during play.  It also offers 3 different modes of play including regular buzz in play, random player selection, and live mode using buzz-in remotes without pre-recorded quizzes.  It includes 4 remotes and you can play with 1-4 players or teams. Ages 5-13.
Quizzillion® Build Your Own Quiz Game - $59.99
For the little ones, the Trace & Learn Cake is great for learning while you celebrate!  "Fun cake teaches letter recognition, beginning words and print awareness.  Using the pretend frosting tube, kids write messages on the cake's surface or use stamps and static clings to decorate.  Includes neon static cling writing surface, six 3" candles that fit into frosting, twelve .5" alphabet and number (0-9) tracing stamps, two sheets of reusable static cling stickers, five write and wipe crayons and one eraser.  2 piece cake locks together for easy storage.  Ages 3-5, Grades Pre-K+"
Trace & Learn® Cake - $32.99  now $19.79!
My Review
The wonderful people from Learning Resources allowed Ashton to pick from several different fun toys for review and he chose the Pizza Mania game!  It arrived about 4-5 days later and Ashton and I opened it immediately and played a quick game.  Pizza Mania is a blast!  Here's a little information about the game:
"Listen up and think fast, young pizza makers!  Chef calls out the toppings for children to put on (and take off) their pizzas."

  • Reinforces listening, counting, and early addition and subtraction skills
  • Supports children with self-checking audio.
  • Challenges students with 2 levels of play
  • Includes 4 pizzas, 48 toppings, (pepperoni, mushrooms, olives, and peppers) and talking chef with volume control.
  • Requires 3 AA batteries not included
  • For 2-4 players
  • Grades Pre-K +
I thought this would be perfect for Ashton because we really needed to work on his listening skills over the summer!  And it seems Ashton, like his Mother, learns best with hands-on learning so this game is perfect.  He's reviewing his early addition and subtraction skills he learned this year and he's working on his listening skills at the same time!  I love the 2 levels of play so Ashton can challenge himself with the second level of play!  Overall, I am very impressed with Learning Resources!  It is very important to keep some kind of education going through the summer, whether it's educational games, worksheets, something!  It makes it much easier on your child and their teacher when the school year comes around again in the fall and Learning Resources is the perfect way to keep your child's mind busy this summer!
Shopaholic Rating: 5 out of 5 shopping bags!  Education is key and Learning Resources is the place to go for all your educational needs!

  10. My daughter is pretty good at most things- her biggest problem is that she doesn't pay attention very well. My son is learning to count right now which he is having a hard time with that visually. We have watched educational videos which really helped him memory wise because they attach songs with the numbers. They love worksheets as well- as long as they can color on them :)
