Baileybe Review

Just one or two reviews back I mentioned that I am a jewelry maker/fanatic.  There is something very intriguing about making something so beautiful out of something so small.  While I've fiddled around with jewelry making for a few months, I haven't really sold very many pieces yet.  Blogging takes up most of my time and that is my real passion.  I also love to support other Mom-trepeneurs, like myself.  So this review is going to combine my two loves, can it get any better than this?

I was browsing through Etsy a few weeks back and I came across BaileyBe and her Etsy store stood out to me for a few reasons.  She had beautiful beaded bracelets but one jewelry idea really caught my eye and I thought it was just to clever and too adorable to pass up!  Karen, the creator and owner of BaileyBe, lives in New York and she creates necklaces she calls "A piece of New York in the palm of your hand."  These cute necklaces literally contain a piece of New York - subway metro cards, street vendor coffee cups, central park dirt and more!  No two necklaces are alike.  You can request for custom city ingrediants!  Karen created these unique necklaces for people, like me, who have never had a chance to visit The Big Apple.  She's been making jewelry for years. Besides the "piece of New York" necklaces she also creates beautiful crystal beaded bracelets, skull beaded jewelry, and she takes custom orders so if there is something specific you have in mind, she can make it for you!  Her etsy page does not show everything that she has made, only an example of what she has.  She loves to go antique shopping for beads and purchases all of her materials from a wholesaler in New York.

My Review
As I stated before, Karen was generous enough to send me a "A piece of New York" necklace."  The necklace came within two or three days after she told me she shipped it, so it came very quickly!  I was extremely suprised!  Karen is such a sweet person and she's such a great person to work with.  That is what I love about mom-trepeneurs.  The customer service aspect is one-on-one with the customer and you actually feel like you matter to her.  Large corporations don't care if you shop with them, I don't know how many horrible customer service experiences I've had with larger corporations, but I can count on one hand how many I've had with mom-trepeneurs.  Anyway, back to the review, the necklace was adorable and my specific little bottle was filled with authentic New York City dirt, a Metro Card and a New York City coffee cup, cut up of course, to fit in the tiny bottle.

Pros: I just love this idea, I think it is so clever! The necklace is adorable and I've already worn it a few times and have been asked about it.  The bottles are made of plastic so if you drop it, it won't break.
Cons: The necklace come with a paper tag with the company logo, it's a little large and was difficult to pull of at first.  The necklace was also a little too small for me.
