Rayovac Platinum Rechargeable Review and Giveaway

I dont know about your family, but my family goes through batteries like they're going out of style!  Between the Wii controllers, T.V. remotes, and all of the toys that sing, dance and talk, we're buying batteries every week and that get's really expensive!  Especially now that neither one of us is working, we need to conserve every cent we get!  Luckily for me, the wonderful people at Rayovac came to the rescue!  I have always preferred Rayovac to any other battery company, in the first place, because of the quality and long life of their products.

Here's more info about Rayovac..
Rayovac has been in business for over 100 years, starting all the way back in 1906 in Madison, Wisconsin. Though they weren't called Rayovac back then.  Up until 1930, they were called the French Battery Company.  By 1933 they had patened the first wearable vaccum tube hearing aide and just 4 years later they developed and patened the first portable radio with HiFi reception.  For decades after they introduced many new, innovative products, all designed to make the average person's life a little bit easier. Rayovac is know internationally as a leader in battery industry.  That is what makes their motto so fitting, "Rayovac, Powers your life!"
Rayovac is also well known for their enviornmental stance.  According to their site, "Maintaining a clean enviornment and conserving our natural resources are issues that concern us all.  Spectrum Brands has a mission to create and maintain a working enviornment that is safe for our employees, the communities in which we work and the earth on which we live.  The individual parts we play in our neighborhoods and on our jobs are critical to preserving these resources for our future and that of our children." It's very comforting to me that Rayovac has such great enviornmental stance.  Like Rayovac says on their site, "We all deserve to have clean air, safe water and adequate resources."

What do I think?
I have always been impressed with Rayovac products.  Their batteries are very durable and also very affordable!  The friendly people over at Rayovac sent me a Rayovac Platinum Rechargeable Battery Charging Set.  It contains 1 Rayovac Battery Charger, 4 AA batteries and 4 AAA batteries.  This amazing charger not only charges AA batteries but also AAA batteries!    It also charge 3x faster than the Rayovac Easy Charger.  You can take up to 16x more digital pictures (vs. Energizer© Ultimate Lithium when recharged 30 times) with just one charge!  It comes ready-to-use so it's perfect for parents like myself who have children that just can't wait for the batteries to charge.  I know my son would bug me all day long until the batteries were charged long enough for him to play on our Wii for a little while.  This charger charges the batteries very quickly, only a few hours as opposed to all night or day with other chargers I have tried in the past.  The Rayovac Platinum Rechargable Batteries hold a charge up to 3x longer than standard NIMH when stored for 1 year.  The charger has an auto shut off for convienience and can charge 2 or 4 AA or AAA batteries at a time.  The fold out plug and LED indicators make it a breeze to use.  When used with a digital camera there is no need to worry about memory being effected and you can take up to 16x more digital photos. (vs. Energizer© Ultimate Litium when recharged 30 times)  The batteries work in all chargers and you can recharge them 300 times.  I am very impressed with this product.  A few things I've noticed, when we've used other rechargable batteries in our Wii controllers and every time they die in about a day.  The Rayovac batteries lived much longer and even when the Wii controller said it was down to it's last bar, it still lasted another 3 days!  That is absolutely amazing to me!  I am VERY impressed with this product.  I literally have NO cons about this product.  ALL pros!

So where can you purchase your own?
Rayovac sells all kinds of different batteries.  They sell batteries for cameras, rechargeables, alkaline, lithium, hearing aides, and industrials.  They also sell flash lights and different light bulbs as well.  You can find any of these fine products at a number of retailers worldwide!  Some of these retailers include, Walmart, Kmart, Home Depot, Lowes, Target, local grocery stores and many others as well. You can also go here to find a retailer near you. If you would like any more information about the Rayovac Brand or any of their incredible products, be sure to check out their webpage.  And check out all of their great money saving coupons.  As well as a $3 off coupon featured on their Facebook Page.

  24. I like these batteries because they are easy to get from any Walmart. The Rayovac Platinum line is the first (or second?) low self-discharge type NiMh battery that is in wide distribution. Another worth mentioning is the OPP line: They are lower capacity but lower price. (Low self-discharge is the underlying technology that allows them to be "precharged" from the package, and "holds charge longer", etc.)
